March 17-22, 2025
NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS: 6
TEAMS WHO CAME AND WHERE FROM:
Rob Kallgren from CHARLESTON
Day team from the AVL DREAMCENTER
PROJECT PROGRESS MADE:
KISHA’S HOME: Final things were buttoned up at Kisha’s home like, the sink plumbing and the electrical and water hooker to the camper on property where Kisha’s mother will stay long term. On Friday we had the honor of interviewing Kisha and hearing a bit more of her story. We will produce a video to share of her home rebuild in the coming days. Kisha has a special place in our hearts and we plan to stay connected with her and her girls, supporting them as we can.
APRIL KUMMERLE: The decision was made to demo the rest of the walls in April’s home due to no insulation between the walls. This is something we weren’t initially aware of and has delayed the potential finish date and will increase the total cost but it is our desire to do our work with excellence so Robert and Luis made the call. We had demo teams from the Asheville Dream Center many days this week and at the end of the week Rob Kallgren began foundation work from the engineer plans from Jeff on the Moore’s Chapel team. Electrical work will begin at Kummerle’s next week, as well as the final foundation work. Luis and his skilled labor team are slated to begin rebuild efforts the first week in April!
