JANUARY 27-February 1, 2025
NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS: 2
TEAMS WHO CAME AND WHERE FROM:
Rob Kallgren from SOUTH CAROLINA
David Foster from SOUTH CAROLINA
PROJECT PROGRESS MADE:
WOODWARD HOME: The woodstove surround was finished at the Woodward home and it looks amazing! The homeowner shared the sentiment with our team, “I love it! I never thought I’d have something this nice in my home”. What a heartwarming thing to hear… There is so much reward in this work we have the opportunity to do. The Woodward family are most deserving and It has been our joy to help them.
NAYLOR HOME: Wood floors have been finished this week and will be ready to be used by friday the 31st! This means the Naylors can begin installing trim and move in shortly after. We are awaiting delivery on the kitchen cabinetry from Fearless Works and will assemble a team to get the cabinets put together and installed upon arrival. The Naylor cottage is still in progress with drywall and painting finished. It will soon be ready for flooring and cabinetry as well.
YANCEY COUNTY/BUNCOMBE COUNTY PERMITTING: Rob Kallgren along with Robert Knight has been doing an awesome job navigating the building permit process in both counties we are working in. Building permits have officially been approved for both houses we are beginning rebuild work on: Mr. Causey and Michael Cooper’s homes. Buncombe County permitting is a bit more of a tedious process which affects all homes we’ll touch in Asheville and Barnardsville where the Kummerle home is. We would love prayers as we navigate this process. And at the same time we are praising God for the progress and favor He is giving us!
FEARLESS WORKS REBUILD #1: We have received a date February 17th when the Fearless Works team will come down and begin the skilled labor rebuild portion of Mr. Causey’s house and potentially Michael Cooper as well. This is a big answer to prayer and so exciting! Please cover us in prayer as we button up the last few things needed to get both of these homes ready for rebuild.
Rob and David knocked out the stone wall behind the wood stove at the Woodward house!
The wood floors at the Naylor home were installed and finished this week!
