Hearing God. It seems complicated. He is constantly speaking, but how often do we take time to listen? Our schedules quickly become busy managing our families and keeping the house in order. Sometimes we can’t seem to make time to be quiet and listen for God.
There are so many distractions in the world that keep us from hearing God. You open your phone to read a bible verse and before you know it you’ve been scrolling social media for ten minutes… You get in your car and think you’ll have time to pray on your way to work but you end up listening to the radio instead. You go to a coffee shop to do a devotional and you get distracted by all the chatter.
Maybe you’re afraid to hear from God. What if he’s angry at the state of your life and the choices you’ve made? Would he even take the time to speak to someone like you?
Or maybe, if you’re honest, you’re not sure you’ve ever heard from God. Sometimes you think you do but it just sounds like your own voice. How do we know when we’re not just hearing our own thoughts? How do we truly know when we are HEARING GOD
